Mt. Dulang Dulang and Mt. Kitanglad are actually two of the several peaks (the others peaks being Mt. Maagnaw and Mt. Kalatungan) that composes the Mt. Kitanglad Range and National Park (MKNR) that covers half of the northern portion of Central Mindanao. A national forest reservation, it is home to some of the endemic flora and birds in the Philippines. Recent sightings of the renowned Philippine Eagle also boost the title of the range as an ecodiverse community.
Update on this August 20, 2007: As of now the traverse trail has been destroyed by a landslide from the series of storms that went over Philippines. We were advise by the local overseer agency not to pursue our planned traverse because of this and the line up of storm coming. We decide to just climb mount Dulang instead, which is safe for climbers now.
Note: For those
interested in joining the climb you may contact me though e-mail here
