BoneDoc the Mountaineer will go to General Santos City for MBS2!

Following the successful Mindanao Bloggers Summit 1 (MBS1) in Davao City last October 27, 2007, this year’s Mindanao Blogging Summit (MBS2) is poised to turbocharged the growing enthusiasm on blogging as a medium of espousing “The Mindanao Consciousness“. No less than the previous MBS1 organizers envisioned this second summit to be bigger than its predecessor.

Among the geographical blogging communities of the Philippines, Mindanao Bloggers is probably one of the more (if not the most) organized, cohesive community of bloggers that have made significant impact on blogging and in promoting the Mindanao consciousness. MBS is one of these hugely successful projects.

Recognizing the enormous potential of this second summit, Socsargen Bloggers (headed by Avel, Hector and Ariel) wasted no time and grabbed the opportunity of organizing and hosting this year’s MBS. Showcasing General Santos City– the Tuna Capital of the Philippines and making it the host city is an exciting and logical choice for the hosts. MBS2 will be held at the Family Country Hotel and Convention Center on October 25-26,2008.

No other phrase captured the Mindanaon’s goals and aspirations than that embodied in this years summit theme: “MINDANAWAN, PAMINAWON INTAWON: Blogging the Mindanao Consciousness.” The call to action from this consciousness is all that matters to the bloggers, to the organizers and its partners. Blogging is instrumental to this “consciousness” like Mindanao bloggers is instrumental to the so called Mindanao Consciousness. In this summit, Mindanao bloggers will again “speak”. We will be heared…

Lets face it though. The few things I learned about bloggers and their personalities is that they are a bunch of diversely critical and outspoken segment of our (new) media spectrum. Yet, they are also amongst the excellently talented and fun loving inbreds ready to take action with an “in your face taunting” of fun and excitement. MBS2 will not be all serious, brain whacking and nose bleeding blog-mongering to boredom. Gen Santos City and the summit organizers have a lot more to offer for the participants.
