My clan is known to go on an “outing” trip on short notice and with barely any preparation as well. Hence when my niece Mae celebrated her 18th birthday and mamang Helen decided to celebrate her liberation from politics, we trooped to Del Rio Resort one evening for a short swim. Me and Joy tagged along with our cameras and presto, we had a fun shoot.
Del Rio Resort, a pool cum water sport entertainment center for kids is just 21 km away from our place. Situated just on the outs skirts of Koronadal City, this swimming resort is taunted to be one of the best water fun centers within South Cotabato area. I’ve been here several times already but I never tried going there at night. My clan went there just as the sun is about to set, brought some food to eat , will swim and then head back home later that evening.
Del Rio may not be the best swimming pool or water fun areas you can find around Mindanao, but it certainly held its own when it comes to water slides and night swims. The resort is alive that evening, well lighted and people there seems to be oblivious to the night. There’s this big pool for adults where several steep, slides that feeds thrill seekers into the pool. I’m afraid of heights so, I’d let go of that inkling to try one of those slides for now. The site is also impressively landscaped with a fountain on the center and artificial bridges fit for people who just want to stroll around the pool. There’s another smaller pool for kids, also with a fountain in the middle where my nephew, Christian and Ean are exclusively frolicking.

Most of us just ate food and went lounging around the pool. Me and joy went around then for a fun shoot. it was Joy’s first time there so I asked her to be the “model” instead. Here’s a few of our shots there.
Well, I didn’t have that much inkling to swim anyway that night. I was too tired that day, had to reserve my energy for the next day. One thing for sure though, this place hold some promise whenever you need some quick R & R around Koronadal. More so, if you’re up for a swim, or a slide thrill!
