Let’s falls hop Iligan’s majestic waterfalls and dance to Diyandi Festival!

Why?  First,  a craving for waterfall adventures. Next to mountain climbing, I’ve logged more outdoor time in waterfalls and rivers. You can see my waterfall and lake tags in my hiking blog posts here. Anything “wet” is fun and exciting for me. I mean getting wet by dipping in waterfalls and rivers.

Second, it’s Iligan City and it’s not called “The City of Majestic Waterfalls” for nothing. Iligan City is home to many waterfalls -huge, wild, pristine  and powerful ones that could either power a whole island (Ma. Cristina Falls) or fall in love with a picturesque one (Tinago Falls). How can I miss Iligan City, the city of majestic waterfalls, if I profess to love waterfall adventures, eh?

Third, waterfalls pose one hell of a photographic challenge to me. I swear by slow shutters and shaking hands I get terrible waterfall scenes and shots. I;m trying to overcome this challenge and I will have to start with Iligan City’s many waterfalls.

Fourth, I’ve been to Iligan before but have not witnessed Dyandi Festival. Diyandi  Festival is a month-long celebration in celebration for Sr. San Miguel feast, patron of Iligan City. Yes, I’ve seen more popular festivals somewhere else, but lately though, I’ve been more attune to less known festivals that turned out to be more spectacular than what I’ve experienced so far. I’ve seen photos of this festival online and it looks spectacular. The Diyandi 2012 is themed at “Like Iligan!” which is to showcase Iligan City and invite people to Discover and Experience Iligan!
