Hiker’s Food Stops: Jacko’s Kan-Anan in Iligan City

Convenience, affordability, savory filipino cuisine  and  wireless internet connection.

As a traveller and hiker, these are the important services I look for in places where I eat or dine. Jacko’s have it all, and more. There’s awesome people to meet, like the Iligan Bloggers Society, who adopted this place as their “headquarters”.

I’m just lucky Nanardz and I arrived at Jacko’s Kan-Anan first in Iligan City after some twelve hours of road trip. Carrying a heavy backpack and an everyday carry traveller sling bag, alighting buses and transferring rides isn’t that easy. Jacko’s roadside location is just so convenient. What’s more, coming from one water falling trip on the far north of Iligan also makes Jacko’s Kan-Anan a good place to stop without having to haggle for food places  when you’re dripping wet. That’s exactly what we did.

Of course, a hiker’s hungry stomach isn’t that easy to fill with just any food. I always prefer a cleanly prepared and savory pinoy cuisine. Crispy Tuna Buntot, Filipino Beef Steak,, Lumpiang Shanghai and a soup to warm up the stomach are on the top of my foodie list. But their sizzling, grilled-adobo style sautéed squid is a runaway winner- I liked it the first time I tasted it!

Sizzling Pusit at its best!

Tasted crispy Tuna buntot away from the Tuna Capital! Only at Jacko’s Kan-Anan!

Are Jacko’s food prices affordable?  If there’s one more important thing we hikers consider in  food place,  that would be the price. Well, at Jacko’s Kan-Anan,  I filled my hungry stomach to brim and browsing at their menu, I need not lose a pinky just so I can eat. I mean eat to my stomach’s desire.

The recent addition of a WIFI connection to  the place makes it even more ideal for travelling netizen like me. Hopefully when this WIFI connection goes 24/7 free, Jacko’s Kan-Anan will be a must food place to eat in Iligan City for hiking netizen like me!
