Guisi Point Lighthouse and Spanish colonial outpost ruins

The Guisi Lighthouse is an 18th century Spanish-colonial lighthouse, the second oldest in the Philippines. Situated on top of a hill, it was built to guide mariners passing the Iloilo and Guimaras strait. The old lighthouse and spanish era outpost is already in ruins but a new lighthouse was built just beside it.

GUISI POINT LIGHTOUSE

The ruins of Spanish era outpost is interesting. Part of the fence, arches, deep well and facade still remains up to today. The rustic metal lighthouse still stands, but its state is dangerously unstable no one is allowed to enter inside.

A relaxing view of the Guimaras and Iloilo strait as well as the  Guisi beach can be seen from this hill.
