Dr. Remo Aguilar
Orthopedic Surgeon | Photographer | Trailwalker of the Inner Landscape

Remo Aguilar is a practicing orthopedic surgeon with a lifelong calling that goes beyond the clinic. Known to many as the “Bonedoc” — a nod to his medical career — and affectionately as “Bundok” (the Filipino word for mountain), Remo has spent decades navigating both the peaks of his profession and the trails of his personal transformation.

An accomplished healthcare administrator, educator, and writer, Remo turned to hiking and landscape photography not just as hobbies, but as a healing practice — a way to rediscover presence, creativity, and self-awareness amid the high-stakes demands of medicine and modern life.

His journey has taken him to seven of the ten highest peaks in the Philippines, across countless mountain trails, and through vibrant pockets of wilderness. Along the way, his lens captured more than just vistas — it framed moments of quiet growth, resilience, and reflection.

Remo is also a seasoned blogger, having authored three well-regarded niche blogs, and a published photographer, with his work featured in:

  • Manila Bulletin’s Picture Perfect
  • Cebu Pacific’s Smile Inflight Magazine
  • Sea Oil Philippines Calendar
  • Philippine Department of Tourism materials used by various LGUs

His images have earned accolades, including recognition as Photographer of the Week by Manila Bulletin, and awards for visual storytelling and creative composition.

Through Trail and Frame, Remo brings together his medical insight, his love for the outdoors, and his belief in the power of reflection — helping other busy professionals find their own “inventure” through the simple act of walking and seeing more deeply.
